Kashmir reopens 16 of it’s tourist destinations

After the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, which claimed 26 innocent lives, the Jammu and Kashmir administration begun reopening popular tourist destinations in a phased manner. The decision comes nearly two months after the attack, signaling efforts to restore normalcy and rebuild public confidence in the region’s safety.

On June 14, 2025, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced the reopening of 16 out of 48 tourist spots that had been closed following the incident. This announcement came during his visit to Pahalgam, where he met with stakeholders including local representatives, tourism operators, pony owners, and hotel associations to coordinate a safe and structured reopening plan.
